THE BUTTERFLY SAILING NATIONALS
From July 16 -18, 2024, Glen Lake, Michigan will host the Butterfly Sailing Nationals, a highly anticipated event in the sailing community. Just 25 minutes from Crystal Lake, where Terra has a host of luxury Crystal Lake vacation homes, Glen Lake offers the perfect setting for this thrilling competition.
The highlight of the event is the Butterfly, a 12-foot, two-crew, one-design scow. This specific boat design is a favorite among Great Lakes sailors, often serving as their introduction to the world of sailing. The Butterfly’s simplicity and agility make it an excellent vessel for learning and mastering sailing skills.
A Sailing Tradition
The Butterfly Sailing Nationals is a traveling event, moving to different lakes each year. Last year, the competition was held at Crystal Lake, and this year, Glen Lake has the honor of hosting.
