This remarkable corner of the Lowcountry has become a sanctuary for those who understand that true luxury means waking up to morning marsh views or tree-lined boulevards and ending your day with sunsets over the Atlantic or Lake Murray.

Salute from the Shore is a 4th of July flyover of F16s, Military C17s, and vintage planes that stretches the entire length of the South Carolina coastline. Beachgoers head down to the 10 miles of coastline on Kiawah Island adorned in red, white, and blue to salute and honor America’s armed forces from the shore.
Columbia: The Heart of South Carolina
Columbia serves as South Carolina’s capital city, blending government, culture, education, and Southern hospitality into a vibrant urban experience. The city sits at the confluence of the Saluda and Broad Rivers, creating the Congaree River and providing beautiful waterfront spaces. Historic neighborhoods feature antebellum architecture, tree-canopied streets, and a walkable downtown that mixes state government buildings with trendy restaurants, craft breweries, and local shops.
The Congaree Vista district has transformed into Columbia’s arts and entertainment hub, with galleries, performance spaces, and farm-to-table dining drawing crowds on weekend evenings. The Riverbanks Zoo and Garden ranks among the nation’s best zoos, offering world-class animal exhibits and stunning botanical gardens. Lake Murray, just minutes from downtown, provides 500 miles of shoreline for boating, fishing, and waterfront living.
Columbia’s culinary scene celebrates Lowcountry and Southern cuisine with modern twists. From shrimp and grits to innovative fusion concepts, the restaurant scene reflects the city’s growing cosmopolitan character while honoring its Southern roots. The craft beer movement has taken hold here, with local breweries creating gathering spaces that feel authentically Columbia.
Lexington: Lake Life at Its Best
Lexington offers the perfect blend of small-town charm and big-lake recreation. Located on the shores of Lake Murray, this growing community has become a haven for those seeking water-based lifestyles without sacrificing convenience or amenities. Lake Murray stretches across 50,000 acres with 500 miles of shoreline, creating endless opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, and waterfront living.
The lake attracts serious anglers chasing striped bass, known locally as stripers, which can reach impressive sizes in these waters. Recreational boaters enjoy relatively calm conditions and numerous coves perfect for anchoring and swimming. Waterfront restaurants dot the shoreline, offering casual dining with sunset views and docks for boat access.
Downtown Lexington maintains its historic character with locally owned shops, restaurants, and community events that bring neighbors together. The town has grown thoughtfully, adding modern amenities and new residential communities while preserving the small-town feel that makes it special. Proximity to Columbia provides access to urban conveniences while Lexington itself offers quality schools, parks, and a genuine sense of community.
Living the South Carolina Dream
