Jacksonville & Northeast Florida: Coastal Celebrations & Firework Finale

Florida knows how to throw a party, and Jacksonville doesn’t disappoint. Start your day in historic St. Augustine with their annual Fireworks Over the Matanzas, a breathtaking show over the water complete with colonial reenactors and live music. If you’re sticking closer to Jacksonville proper, Downtown Jax’s Fourth of July Fireworks are legendary—catch them from Riverfront Plaza or take a boat out on the St. Johns River for an unbeatable view.
Feeling beachy? For a coastal celebration, visit Jacksonville Beach. Enjoy live music from nearby bars, taste some amazing food from local food trucks, and stay tuned to watch the colorful firework display launching from the Jacksonville Beach Pier at 9 PM. Don’t forget your beach blanket!
Key Largo & South Florida: Fireworks on Island Time
In Key Largo, everything is better by the water—and 4th of July is no exception. Join locals and visitors alike for the iconic Key Largo 4th of July Parade & Fireworks Show. It kicks off in the morning with a parade along US-1 and wraps up with fireworks over Blackwater Sound. Make a dinner reservation at Snook’s Bayside or The Caribbean Club for front-row seats.
Boaters can anchor out for a floating fireworks party—just don’t forget the cooler and the July 4th playlist. For a daytime adventure, take the family snorkeling in John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park before the evening festivities.

Big Sky, Montana: Mountain Magic Meets Americana
Looking for a more scenic spin on Independence Day? Big Sky, Montana delivers with a charming, small-town 4th that’s big on heart. Kick things off with the Firecracker Open at Big Sky Resort Golf Course for its annual Fourth of July tournament with all proceeds going to Folds of Honor. Afterwards, head over to Len Hill Park for a special 4th of July edition of Music in the Mountains.
As the sun sets behind Lone Peak, settle in for fireworks that reflect off the mountain slopes—it’s a show you won’t forget. Bonus points for grabbing a spot near the Gallatin River with a cozy blanket and some s’mores.

Chevy Chase, Potomac & Bethesda, Maryland: Tradition in Full Color
The D.C. suburbs know how to honor the nation’s big day in classic style. In Chevy Chase, there are multiple grand receptions that include wining and dining, with fireworks viewings in the evenings. For example, the 4th of July Fireworks Reception at Conrad Washington DC, or the July 4th Fireworks at the Embassy Row Rooftop are great options.
Over in Bethesda, hop over to Kenwood Golf & Country Club for their members-only fireworks display a few days before the 4th—or catch the public Montgomery County Fireworks at South Germantown Recreational Park, where the Central City Orchestra is set to perform.
And in Potomac, head to Cabin John Regional Park for a relaxing picnic followed by an evening show under the stars. The area’s blend of tradition and modern fun makes it a picture-perfect place to call home.

Frankfort, Bellaire & Crystal Lake, Michigan: Americana at Its Best
There’s something magical about celebrating the 4th in Northern Michigan. Start your day in Frankfort with their all-day celebration: a parade down Main Street, an art fair, and beach games that spill into the evening. Cap it off with fireworks over Lake Michigan that dance along the shoreline.
Crystal Lake offers a slightly quieter—but equally stunning—celebration with a community boat parade and fireworks reflected on the clear blue water. In Bellaire, head to Short’s Brewing Company for a patriotic pint before the evening concert and light show.

Lake Murray & Columbia, South Carolina: Fireworks, Floats, & Family Fun
South Carolina keeps it festive with its Fort Jackson Independence Day Fireworks Celebration at the Hilton Parade Field in Columbia. Additionally, each year the Gilbert Community Park hosts the Lexington County Peach Festival, which is recognized as one of the most successful and prestigious events of its kind in the Southeastern US. This is a great family-friendly way to spend the 4th!
You could also head downtown for Fireflies Baseball and stick around for their fan-favorite fireworks finale.
Aspen, Colorado: Elevated Festivities in the Rockies
High-altitude fun awaits in Aspen, where the town goes all-out for the 4th. The Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration brings back-parade floats, patriotic dog shows, and a community picnic on the slopes of Aspen Mountain.
Instead of traditional fireworks (due to fire bans), Aspen now offers a dazzling drone light show—800 drones synchronized to music and even more awe-inspiring against the night sky. Spend the afternoon biking the Rio Grande Trail or grabbing a cone from Paradise Bakery, then join the festivities downtown.
We’re still putting the finishing touches on our Aspen plans—so stay tuned for exciting opportunities coming soon!

Wrapping Up the Red, White & Real Estate
Whether you’re beach-hopping in Florida, enjoying a lakeside bonfire in Michigan, or watching drones dance above Aspen, there’s a 4th of July celebration in every Terra territory worth experiencing. These communities aren’t just great for holiday weekends—they’re incredible places to live, year-round.
